Ashtanga Yoga

We offer traditional Ashtanga & Open Studio (Mysore Style) classes!

Audrey Rose Joseph assisting a student in an Ashtanga headstand at Meltdown Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional and dynamic practice that unites breath, movement, and focus to build strength, flexibility, and inner awareness. Rooted in ancient yoga philosophy, Ashtanga follows a set sequence of postures designed to purify and balance the body and calm the mind through rhythmic, breath-linked flow. Each practice becomes a moving meditation, cultivating discipline, strength, and a deeper connection to self. Ashtanga offers a transformative journey for practitioners seeking growth both on and off the mat.

Mysore Style (Open Studio)

Mysore style yoga, featured in our Open Studio class, is the traditional method of practicing Ashtanga Yoga as it is taught in Mysore, India. In this self-paced class, each student moves through the set sequence of postures at their own rhythm. The teacher guides each student with individual instruction and hands-on adjustments. This personalized approach allows for steady progress, deeper awareness, and a meditative connection to breath, grace and posture (Tristana Method). Rooted in lineage and oral tradition, Mysore style practice honors the sacred teacher-student relationship (paramparā), supporting each practitioner's unique journey toward balance, strength, and inner stillness.

The program is run by Audrey Rose Joseph, whose credentials include training with some of the most renowned Ashtangis in the Ashtanga community, including but not limited to Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldmann, and Joseph Armstrong.

All questions regarding Ashtanga can be directed to Audrey Rose:

Dana Campo — Meltdown Yoga instructor

Dana Campo

Creative Director, Studio Photographer, and Owner of Meltdown Yoga Inc. My yoga journey began 10 years ago while seeking emotional healing and a deeper mind body connection. I believe that yoga gives people the opportunity to connect to oneself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I received my 200HR training in 2022 and immediately began teaching, currently holding over 2500 hrs. of teaching under my belt. I am truly humbled to be given the opportunity to teach daily, sharing with others, my knowledge of the medicinal benefits that a daily practice can present to one's mind, body, and spirit. I like to bring a mix of power vinyasa, ab work, Pilates, deep breathing and meditation to my flows, along with an eclectic playlist. Forever a student, continuing to practice amongst my fellow teachers and students is an absolute must. See you on your mat!

Stephanie Conte — Meltdown Yoga instructor

I love guiding individuals through power vinyasa practices, offering yogis an opportunity to test themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. I am a firm believer that what you conquer on your yoga mat will lead you closer to self-actualization. There is great energy and strength in community, so I hope to help build and be a part of a community of healers here in Newburgh. See you on your mat!

Audrey Rose Joseph — Meltdown Yoga instructor

Audrey Rose Joseph

Audrey Rose truly believes in the transformative power of yoga. She has experienced the power first hand after using yoga to mentally spiritually and physically recover from a life changing car accident. As she continues on her journey towards wholeness, she believes it is important to value not just the physical but all eight limbs of yoga to attain the full benefits of the practice. Deepening the connection of the mind (dhyāna, meditation), body (asana, the physical practice of poses) and spirit (prana, the breath and life force) is the path to igniting the light within us all. She believes that each person is gifted with a purpose on this earth. We must first build a meaningful relationship with ourselves and our purpose will find us. She acknowledges that all our past experiences have brought us to this moment of love and total acceptance. Audrey Rose is trained in Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative yoga. Receiving her 200-RYT from Aligned Yoga, studying under two of AloMoves best instructors, Briohny Smyth (lead teacher) and Mathieu Boldron. She calls Newburgh her home and is thrilled to be part of the Meltdown Yoga team.

Paige Reiss — Meltdown Yoga instructor

Paige Reiss

I was introduced to Pilates during my teenage years and quickly became fascinated with the mind-body connection that Pilates fosters. Over the years, I have found immense value in the functional strength and mobility the practice promotes. I recently earned my certification as a Pilates Mat instructor under Juliet Harvey at Beacon Pilates and, am furthering my expertise by working to become a certified NCSF personal trainer. I am excited about this new chapter in my life and see my role, not just as an instructor, but as a motivator and guide, helping others unearth their hidden potential.

Jenny Tell — Meltdown Yoga instructor

Jenny Tell

Yoga is much more than funky poses and flexibility. Too often one can get caught up on the physical aspects without realizing the whole body benefits of the practice. Yoga invites you to connect with your breath, which allows you to get out of your mind and into your body. I am a 200 hour certified yoga teacher who thoroughly enjoys creating meaningful, fun yoga flows, suitable for all levels. Before you know, you'll be doing "hard things" on and off the mat that will help you live a more present, fulfilling journey through life. And the added bonus is that you will feel AMAZING!!!

She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification in August 2025 and integrates her deep understanding of trauma into every aspect of her healing work. Urania has found that healing the mind, body, and spirit through yoga, sound bowl therapy, and Mayan cosmology is profoundly transformative. As a spiritual facilitator and cacao ceremony guide, she bridges clinical wisdom with ancestral practices, creating sacred spaces for reconnection, grounding, and self-discovery. Her Spanglish Raices Y Flow Yoga class invites students to move with intention, embody presence, and honor the wisdom within. Nancy Ganz — Meltdown Yoga instructor

Nancy Ganz

Nancy is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher who is passionate about creating classes that help students build strength, confidence, and a deeper connection to themselves. While she enjoys incorporating strength-focused movement into her teaching, she believes yoga offers something unique for everyone, whether they are looking to improve mobility, reduce stress, build resilience, or simply spend time moving mindfully. Her goal is to create an inclusive and supportive space where students can explore their practice and meet themselves exactly where they are. Yoga has become an important part of Nancy's life both on and off the mat, shaping the way she moves, thinks, and connects with the world around her. She values the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of the practice and strives to share those benefits with her students. Through thoughtful sequencing, encouragement, and mindful movement, Nancy hopes to help students leave class feeling stronger, more balanced, and more connected to themselves.

Trudy earned her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in 2026 and is excited to begin her teaching journey at Meltdown Yoga. She began practicing yoga more than a decade ago and, like many practitioners, discovered it while seeking both physical and mental healing. Drawing inspiration from her daily Ashtanga practice, Trudy's vinyasa classes emphasize the balance of strength, flexibility, and the breath. In addition to teaching yoga, Trudy is a professional artist whose work has been exhibited internationally. When she's not on the mat, she can often be found painting in her Hudson Valley studio.

Ariana Vasquez — Meltdown Yoga instructor

Ariana Vasquez

I'm a newly certified yoga teacher passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive space for students of all levels. My approach blends mindful movement, breath awareness and a focus on connection, helping each person tune into their body and move in a way that feels both empowering and sustainable. Yoga, to me, is a way to reconnect — both with the body and the quieter parts of ourselves that often get overlooked in busy daily life. I aim to create classes that feel steady and supportive where you can breathe deeply, move mindfully and simply be as you are.
